If you’re looking for history, check out the Henry County Historical Society and Museum in New Castle. The museum includes a Genealogy Library for residence to research their ancestors. The Historical Society, formed in 1887, is planning a big celebration for the county’s bicentennial in 2022.

Head on over to Hagerstown, IN, to visit the Wilbur Wright Birthplace Museum. The museum features the house where Wilbur was born and a full-size replica of the 1903 Wright Flyer the brothers used in their first flight! The museum is open from April to November so there’s time to plan your trip.

Although currently closed, fans of the 1986 classic “Hoosiers” can still email the nonprofit group that runs the gym where the movie was filmed to request a tour.

After you check out the arts pavilion in New Castle, head on over to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame after all, as the museum says, “In 49 other states, it’s just basketball, but this is Indiana.” The Hall of Fame has special sections to the greats who played and coached in Indiana plus trophies, jerseys, and other memorabilia. An interactive display takes you right into the action to see if you can nail the Game Winning Shot or try to block a superstar opponent.
